Sometimes I find that time just runs out. I’ve had plans to sit down and sew up a storm, only to have other things get in the way until it never happens! Just in case you’re in the same boat, I’ve gathered some of my favorite super simple and quick baby blankets.
These patterns feature everything from minky and fur to fleece, flannel, or cotton. If I have a little more time on my hands, I love adding a ruffle or some appliqué to dress them up. They are great for making in batches so you always have a few on hand for those last-minute “emergency” invitations.
Nothing says handmade quite like a baby blanket—they really are the perfect gift for snuggling.
Quick & Cute Baby Blankets
I love having a few of these tucked away in my gift closet. There is nothing like the panic of a last-minute baby shower invitation when I haven’t even started a project! These patterns are my go-to because they let me use the high-quality flannels and minky I already have in my stash, but they don’t require the time commitment of a full quilt.
Whether I’m looking for something rugged and upcycled or a quick 45-minute nap-time throw, these options cover all the bases. I especially like that many of these can be customized with a simple applique or a rounded corner to give them that extra personal touch.
Plus, if I’m sewing with the youngest, these are simple enough for them to help with, which makes the gift even more special.
