Little dolls are one of my favorite things to sew. This little swaddle baby doll pattern is simple and sweet.
It really is a one hour sewing project. There are no arms or legs and a little quilted blankie is used for the body shape.
The face is sewn underneath the quilt, so she or he looks all snuggled and sleepy. For the hair I used fleece- I started using fleece because I ran out of felt one time and resorted to fleece– love it and will not go back!
Ideas to use your swaddled baby doll-
Baby Jesus. Keep the fabric simple with muslin or a light fabric with little pattern. It looks more swaddle like. This would be great for a prop during a Nativity with all the kids all dressed up.
My first doll. My little girls adored little babies. They love to wrap them up in blankies (without the arms, they are so simple to wrap even for little ones) and pretend they are mommas…just like theirs!
Nap time Lovee. With the sleepy eyes and snuggly look these swaddle dolls are perfect for napping with. Give them something special when they hop into the crib or bed.
