Travel is on the brain! Maybe it’s because I was off having fun at Quilt Market {more on that later!} or the holidays are quickly approaching….either one today we will be using our quilt blocks to sew a passport pouch. We already have our luggage tags….now how about a little pouch to keep our important papers or documents in.
I grew up in Madrid, Spain {father is retired Air Force} and I remember traveling around with a little pouch on a string around my neck, I believe it was a passport neck wallet. It was quite handy, but kind of a pain when you needed something- you had to fish the pouch out to use it.
This little collection is a little more stylish and less fishy {if you know what I mean, even though I did find one that was an around the neck style}.

Just remember that when you use these patterns you can substitute any of the measurements with a quilt block that is equal to it! If you need to adjust the quilt block, add a few scraps to the sides…or cut it up if you have to!
The idea is to look past one piece of fabric and get those orphan quilt blocks into a finished project.
Do you have a favorite style of passport or neck pouch?

My hubby was stationed at Torrejon AB, Spain in the late 70’s. We enjoyed our tour, at that time there were quite a few retired famlies in the area.
We were there from 83-89 and I loved every minute of it!
Thanks for the patterns! My son is traveling with his French club . there are 8 of them going so I had them each pick out the style they wanted. Made them in coordinated Bright (can you say neon) colors so they could spot them right away if they set them down. I also made them matching luggage tags. Using the Eiffel tower material I had left over for the insides made it perfect!
Thanks ever so much!
how fun! Sounds like a fun trip!
thank you look forward to seeing more great ideas
Perfect timing! My daughter is traveling to Europe this summer for a music trip. This will definitely be one project I get finished for her to use! Hubby and I are headed to a convention in Dominican Republic and our old passport holders were made to wear around our necks. I think I like these better!
