Round Robin #3 Row 5 By Patchwork Posse
Phewey Magooie girls! I have finally sewn something– row 5 for the Round Robin 3

For this row you will need 2 different colors for the pinwheels and a bit of background. {I am running low on mine— eeep} The blocks are easy to sew together. I did lay each block out and then sew them together one by one. That way i didn’t twist the pinwheels or make them go the wrong way.

You will be sewing a total of 7 blocks — they won’t be the same length as the other rows. No worries though- when all lthe rows are sewn I will show you how to make them all fit!

Thanks to my helpers holding that row— since i have moved out of my moms and no longer have a design wall. waaaa

Tips & Tricks For Sewing The Pinwheel Row 5
- Press Seams Carefully – To reduce bulk, press seams open or in alternating directions for a flatter finish.
- Use Starch for Precision – Lightly starch your fabric before cutting to help with accuracy and prevent stretching.
- Chain Piecing Saves Time – Speed up your sewing by chain piecing multiple pinwheels in one go before pressing and trimming.
- Check Your Layout Before Sewing – Arrange your blocks beforehand to ensure the pinwheels are aligned correctly in the row.
- Trim for Consistency – Square up each pinwheel before sewing them together to keep your row even and straight.
- Test Block First – Make a sample block before cutting all your fabric to ensure the sizing and technique work well.

Frequently Asked Question Of Row 5
+ What size should my fabric squares be for the pinwheel row?
The fabric square sizes may vary depending on the pattern, but typically, you’ll need squares around 5”–6” to create the pinwheel blocks. Always check the instructions for exact measurements.
+ Can I use pre-cut fabric like charm squares?
Yes! Pre-cut charm squares (5” x 5”) are a great option for making pinwheel blocks quickly and easily.
+ How do I prevent my fabric from stretching while sewing?
Pinwheel blocks are made with bias edges, which can stretch easily. To prevent this, handle the fabric gently, use starch, and avoid pulling when pressing seams.
