Coming up with things around the house for each holiday can be time consuming! There are so many options {thank you pinterest} that I am not quite sure where to begin.
I was thinking that for this year, keeping it simple…and starting to pay attention to the holidays, would be kind of fun. Decorating the home in celebration is definitly not high on my list of to-do’s, but having a few things around the house is kind of fun and festive.
This is where this printable comes in.
Applique Options:
Words:
- Be Mine
- Kiss
- XOXO (one o with a heart if you’d like)
- Love
- U
- of course with these you can mix and match– I heart U, Kiss me…. see the idea? It’s kind of like a pick and choose with words!
Hearts– a few different sizes: big for a background, little, inside the letter
Arrow– to shoot through the heart, or not
If you find that they aren’t big enough, enlarge them. For my project I chose the large heart, and the letters XO with the center of the O being a small heart.
Instructions for Valentine applique:
1) Print off the applique templates {the template is reversed, no need to mirror before printing!}
2) Trace on the fusible web {I use and love, Thermoweb: Heat -n-bond}
3) Use the instructions on the product you are using– Iron onto wrong side of fabric
4) Cut out
5) Iron
6) Stitch
You can go with raw edge applique, satin stitch, button hole by hand…or whatever you’d like!
Need some help with ideas on where to put these applique?
How about a banner? table runner? small quilt? on a t-shirt, onesie, kitchen towel…the list can go on and on!
