I’ve got a fun little project to share with you: the travel tissue cover.
It’s super easy and a great way to use up those fabric scraps or fat quarters you’ve been hoarding. Picture this: two fabrics—one for the main part, the other for a cute trim along the edge.
You can go for a coordinated look or mix it up for some funky vibes.
These little covers are perfect for tossing in your bag, keeping in your car, or gifting to friends. And the best part? They’re quick to make, even if you’re a sewing newbie.
Seriously, you can whip one up in under 30 minutes.
So, if you’re looking for a fun way to jazz up your tissue game and flex those sewing skills, grab your scraps and let’s get stitching!
Trust me, you’ll be hooked once you see how adorable and practical these little covers turn out. I have plans to have these on hand for quick gifts.

Choosing Fabric for this project:
I used scraps from my quilting cotton stash. Don’t overthink this! Go for some fun ‘conversation’ style fabrics – see how I used the super cute cat fabric with the grid style edge trim.
I’ve seen these covers made with fun calicos and solids as well.
What would be fun is your favorite sports team, food (think pizza fabric) or something that reflects the person you are making it for. Make it super personal to them.

TO MAKE ONE TISSUE HOLDER, YOU WILL NEED:
- 6″ x 6″ fabric – body of the tissue cover
- 6″ x 8″ fabric – trim edge of the tissue cover
- Purple Thang Tool
- I used the cheap tissues found at the dollar store – you can use the Kleenex brand as well.
