Nothing is better than eating a steaming hot yummy dinner roll. Would you agree?
There are a few times when my rolls totally flop…and they didn’t look good. After trying out a few recipes I hit this one that is spot on. Every time.
If you aren’t a fan of using shortening you can switch it out with butter. Either will work.
These aren’t too fussy to make. No watching, punching, and waiting here. This recipe is quick to make and a great one for dinner parties or just for any time!
Depending on how large you make your dough balls you will get over 24 rolls per batch.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Warm Water
2 TBS yeast
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Shortening (or butter)
1 Egg
6 1/2-7 cups Flour
The Best Dinner Rolls Recipe:
Dissolve yeast in warm water . Stir in rest of ingredients. Let sit 15 minutes. Knead for 4 minutes. Shape into balls.
Place on greased pan. Let rise until double in size.
Bake 400 for 12-15 minutes.
Brush melted butter on top of hot rolls.
