While at The Creative Connection I ran into a few gals who told me about Create H.O.P.E. Designs– one pattern at a time. Quick About:
H…Hearts United
O…Orphaned No More
P…Patterns With Purpose
E…Even the Least of These
Create H.O.P.E Designs is an organization that was started in September of 2011 by a group of women with a collective desire to make a difference with their talents. It was obvious what could be done, we all shared something in common, we are designers. We are a collection of artists selling our patterns to those crafter’s in the world that share our need to beautify our surroundings. It was with this goal in mind that Create H.O.P.E Designs or Create H.O.P.E was launched. Our goal is to provide beautiful patterns or tutorials for a very affordable price. All of the designs are down-loadable PDF files, ensuring that Create H.O.P.E will operate overhead-free. 100% of all funds generated will benefit designated foundations serving orphans and their communities.
Isn't that wonderful?! Well, I decided to donate the pattern Monkey Bars —
The quilt is similar to a stacked coins, but they don't really stack. they are more like bars. It is a take off of this quilt…made in 2009 that I totally loved to do!
The pattern uses a background + 17 strips of a jelly roll or strips that you already have…or whatever you like. There is a variety of sizes…some squares, some rectangles, some super skinny things. Lot's of fun stuff! It is a great sewing pattern for beginners. It sews up quickly and really, the variety of fabrics allows to you not think to much with placement. Find a line that has some great contrast and a few colors that pop. The red was definetly the popper here.
The fabric i used for the pattern is from Fresh Cut Quilts. {which i purchased last year at spring market– love it kari!}
Quick look at the back– I finally used some fabric that i had bought as a bolt from a garage sale. Perfect colors and fun gardening things to go along with the flowers. Only a ton more left to use up. lol
So, if you'd like to make a small difference {which is better than none at all} hop on over and Order the patterns {or go shopping for a few more} at their etsy store.
