I’ve gotten a little bit lazy in the daily sewing area.
A little bit of sewing every day.
Not that you have to, but it’s a good thing.
I have been so focused on sewing for the quilt group or for the blog or for others (all of them are awesome and I’m really lucky for those opportunities- don’t get me wrong) but I’m not finding much fun in it.
I am always on someone else’s agenda and the project becomes ho-hum.
Well- after I started making a few of the planner pages for the 16 free quilt planner series, I kind of realized that it had been awhile since I had sewn.
I did sew a few things for Christmas….but really, I don’t sew as much as I’d like.
The last page for the series was the Daily Sewing Tracker.
Print off the tracker on this page.
Now, I know we are past the start of the first day of the year…but we are right at the beginning of the year, and we are in charge, so when we start is besides the point and up to us individually.
So- will you join me in a little something?
I’m not sure how long we’ll go….I’m hoping for the year because they do say after 13 days, it becomes habit.
But for at least 3 months I’m going to sew everyday.
I’m not giving myself a timed time or time limit.
I’m just saying that every day I will sew something.
That something will or might include: hand stitching, embroidery, button attachment or mending, quilt blocks, machine quilting….. anything with a needle counts. Maybe a quick project or something I make using an orphan quilt block.
You can follow the progress on Instagram
(which I’m starting to use more and this sharing every day will help me be more active there as well!)
I will also be pushing those over to the facebook page and free group…so you can follow along there if you following those.
If you are interested in joining this crazy journey with me, you are officially invited.
Share your pictures on facebook or Instagram – use the hashtag:
#dailysew
so we can see them all as a collective.
I really am almost giddy about this.
It gives me a ‘reason’ to do something that I love and I look forward to making some progress on some long awaited and begged for quilts (it’s coming Eliza!) and possibly starting a few new projects as well.
There is no formal agreement to sign– you can leave a quick note here and then, let’s get busy.
No more chatting, there is sewing to be done.

I’m with you! 🙂 I’ve been finding myself doing exactly as you were describing. I just sat here reading with my mouth agape, thinking “thats me!” I can’t seem to get motivated in a particular direction. So this is just what I needed to get going on something, anything really to get my sewjo back sew to speak 🙂 Thanks Becky! 🙂

I have almost finished reorganizing my sewing room, so I can get more done. I am battling cancer right now and sewing things to give to loved ones is what keeps me going. It truly brings me joy. so I will also be on this journey with you. it is important to find time for the things that make you happy!

I will give it a go too. I have a few projects that I can easily do a little bit on here and there, and this will be a great way to help get them finished.

Yea, I am in. I do sew most days but now and then I just get a few minutes in. Like tonite, I went up to sew, was sewing about 15 minutes on a baby quilt and my nephew stopped by. So I closed up my sweat shop and went down to visit with him. What fun though, at least I got a seam done.

I’ve been pretty good about doing a little each day. Last night I didn’t feel like using my machine so I did hand embroidery while I watched TV:). Becky – could you post how to use the printable for this? this one is just not obvious to me :(. thanks.

Becky – I reread the entry for the Daily tracker and understand now. Would help if I didn’t skim everything – lol.

Not sure where the entry for the Daily Tracker is? Want to read it to get a better understanding, please.
Have printed out all the pages. TIA

You can either share in the facebook group or on Instagram – use the #dailysew that way they can all be seen together when searched with it. Does that help!?
Can’t wait to see what you will be working on.

I meet with quilting friends 3 times a month to sew but not much gets done in between. I plan on starting Dec 1 since Thanksgiving will be over, family will be on their way back home and I’ll have a little time to clean up my sewing room. So looking forward to making a dent in my UFOS!
