For one of my quilt groups Christmas party we are exchanging christmas stockings. I was thinking that it would be a perfect project to dig around in the orphan quilt block drawer and find a few blocks that would be just perfect for the layout of the stocking.
I went with 2 quilt blocks. One was already cut into for ornaments, the other showed off this american beauty with a corner placement. I simple sewed the two together so they were tall enough for the template. I moved the template around until I figured out how to get those points shooting off from the heal.
After the placement was perfect, I cut it out. I found a co-ordinating fabric for the back {nothing fancy, no quilt blocks} and for the lining.
Following these instructions — I didn’t add any vintage hankies though.

I thought that the quilt blocks themselves had enough interest in them to not worry about any additional embellishments.
