Learn how to make simple block and row markers for your quilt blocks and rows. Before you complete your quilt, you’ll have pieces – blocks and rows that will need to be taken care of and tagged somehow.
These block and row markers are made with simple embroidery cards, washi tape and safety pins.
Perfect for taking on quilt retreats, cruises and classes. When you finish laying out a block you can use the quilt block marker so when you unpack later on – you know exactly what the block is or the row.

How to use the markers
These markers can be made with numbers or even A,B,C’s. You can make as many as you need. One per block, per row that you are sewing.
After you have finished your block or row- use the markers to keep track of them.
If you have to move or store the parts of the quilt for a later date, you’ll be able to pull them out and know exactly what they are.

YOU WILL NEED:
- Embroidery Floss Bobbins – I used the plastic ones
- Safety Pins – these are 1.5 inches
- Washi tape – find some cute ones!
How to make your markers:

Step 1: Take the embroidery card and washi tape and wrap the card once with the tape

Step 2: Write on the washi tape numbers 1, 2, 3, and whatever numbers you need.

Step 3: Open the safety pin and place in the hole at the top of the embroidery card. Secure closed.
