I was hanging out in my new room {we got carpet in the basement!!! so we moved some furntiture around upstairs} and I spotted this little plate. What a great way to display radom quilt blocks– right smack dab in the center of a decorative plate.
I do have to say that this was a kit. I bought it at Spring Market a few years back. It is not one of my best quilt blocks I have ever made, and the circle leaves something to be desired, but overall the idea is what we are looking at here.
The plate is wooden and then has some awesome tole painting on the borders. I am pretty sure the center design was based on the painting or vise versa.
I picked up a plate rack and the whole thing works perfectly on top of the shelf…and with the quilt block being open, I am able to give it a dusting every once in awhile.

The quilt matches the plate so perfectly. Looks really folksy.

That is a cute idea, I do have some tin plates, a penny rug center would be fun to try.

That would be fun- a penny rug is perfect for it too.

folksy is right on! Not typically my style, but it fits right in.
