We are heading into Holiday zone! It’s coming… quickly. Are you ready? This week I thought I would tackle one pretty simple way to use your orphan quilt blocks. Felt ornaments.
The whole idea with this project is finding quilt blocks that are cutable. If you can’t cut it– then don’t use that quilt block, find another one.
The ones that I used weren’t pieced the best. Miss-matched points, maybe bad color combos…whatever the problem is, they won’t show with this project!
Materials needed:
Quilt Blocks you can cut up
wool or acrylic felt for the backside
6″ ribbon for hanger
Fusible Web- Heat n bond
Felt Ornaments Instructions:
Trace onto fusible web
Iron to back of fabric {you can play around with placement before ironing}
Cut out
Place on felt, tucking folded ribbon at top in between- iron securely{the felt is not cut to size! It’s is larger than the ornament right now}
Sew along the edge either with a satin stitch or raw edge applique
Cut felt just past the stitches
