Each month we meet up with a variety of quilt and fabric designers, new book authors, notion developers and more! It’s fun to get to know them a little bit better. Let me introduce you to Pamela Boatright of Pamela Quilts.
How did you get your start in sewing?
My mom taught me to sew when I was young, I can hardly remember a time when I wasn’t!
Where do you find inspiration?
Fabric! I’m also inspired by nature, and the world around me.
Do you have a favorite or a few favorite notions? What are they?
My favorite rotary cutters are Olfa – love the aqua Splash cutter. Wonder Clips are super handy, and Aurifil thread is a mainstay in my sewing room.
Tell us about the project your currently working on.
I’m in the middle of so many projects right now, but I’m really excited about the Blue Skies string quilt from Bonnie Hunter’s String Fling book! It’s going to be so pretty in my blue and yellow batik scraps.
Have anything fun coming up or just happening that you’d like to share?
I am working on starting a big quilt along in August celebrating the epic road trip my husband and I took last year – we had a blast traveling across the United States visiting family and friends!
What are your favorite parts of quilting?
I love all aspects of quilting, starting and planning new projects is so exciting and fun!
Give us a quirky fact about yourself 🙂
I am kind of a goofball and love to make people laugh!
What interests do you pursue when you’re not quilting?
I love taking walks, reading, and traveling (road trip, anyone?).
