We absolutely love our community members, but because we don’t live close by – it’s a little trickier to get to know them. With this member spotlight, we will sit down for a virtual chat with one of our community members and get to know them a little better.

Let’s get to know Penny Pierce!
Location – where in the world are you?
Queen Creek, Arizona
When did you complete your first project and what was it?
2013 – A set of placemats.
What is on your bucket list when it comes to sewing / quilting?
using my rulers for fmq on my domestic machine

What is the sewing /quilting project you are most proud of?
My first quilt was a king sized log cabin. It still brings a smile to my face when I see it on our bed as it says to me, “Yes you can.”
Your best advice for quilters just beginning:
Start small, placemats, pillows, baby quilts. Less frustration and more fundamentals on those projects.
Where do you sew?
My sewing room. It was just redone at the end of last year and it is my sanctuary when all else is going crazy.

What are you currently working on?
The Dutch Garden QAL; a Murder Mystery BOM; and quilt tops for our church prayer quilt group.
What do you do when you are not sewing?
Read (murder mysteries of course), peruse FB and the IAQ site, and spend time with my hubby.
