My mom came up with a fantastic idea that I love…..it’s the tool tote.
She bought these for us a few years back to haul around whatever we’d like. Since then, I have kept mine loaded and ready to go on sewing retreats, or sewing days with friends.
It’s just the right size for all kinds of supplies. It’s made super sturdy so it will last for a long time! More pockets than you can imagine…and you can quickly grab and go.
You’ll find the tool bucket I used here:

Why I love my tool tote sewing kit:
– pockets galore! With this version there are pockets surrounding the outside. There are pinch-pleated pockets, mesh pockets and elastic bands to hold all your little sewing notions in place. I love that you can see down inside or through the mesh….nothing will be lost!
– plenty of space inside! Rulers, scissors, lots of fabric, thread…whatever, will fit in that big center spot. The handle of this version is in the middle, so you can easily slip rulers and other longer supplies down the side. They won’t get in your way.
– it’s made to take a beating! I have to admit that I am a bit rough on some things. This is one of them. It gets tossed in the car, piles high with goodies, loaded to test the weight limit. And yet it still keeps going! The sides have metal bars to keep the shape, but they aren’t too heavy to carry.
– the handle is padded! oh yeah. You know fabric and supplies are heavy. The padded handle is perfect for hauling all your goods without getting blisters.
