Round Robin Winter Wonderland with Clover & Violet

Today I am so excited to introduce the next pattern for the Round Robin Winter Wonderland quilt along.   I do have to admit that I haven’t been a follower long of Jennie and Clara, but after stumbling upon their blog and patterns, I am hooked.  The style and quality surely shines through the patterns and projects they design.  They are super classy mom and daughter team– and happy to announce that they are the ones who have come up with the next row for the Round Robin.

Merry Gift Boxes

I love the stacked gift boxes! What a great addition to the Winter Wonderland collection of rows.  Gifts are definitly on our minds during the snow flying time…and the more we get the better right? or, is this showing what we are giving?  The block will be repeated 3 times for a total of 9 gift boxes. I love the criss cross of the ribbon with the little bow on the top.  I am thinking you can add additional little embellishments of ric rac or real ribbon– wouldn’t that be totally cute?!

I would make sure that you have good contrast between the boxes and the ribbon strip so it doesn’t get lost.  Also-  Just for fun you can use fabric for the boxes that are sort of wrapping paper type style.  The print is smaller on the two boxes and an over large flower print for the small one.  I can just imagine these as real boxes.

The pattern is paper pieced, but because the pieces are on the larger size, you should beable to whip right through them.  If you are needing some extra help with paper piecing there is a tutorial from the Quick as a Fox Quilt Along.

A little bit about them-

We’re a mother-daughter team who love to sew, quilt, and embroider. We started Clover & Violet in 2009 as a little shop to sell handmade baby items. Though some twists and turns we have found ourselves designing patchwork bags and embroidery quilts! We couldn’t be happier. We seem to be growing and changing all the time and are greatly looking forward to what this year will bring.

Even though we don’t live near each other, we stay in touch by chatting on the phone and skype, and manage to mail a lot of things back and forth {both of us have our hands in almost every project}.
