I’m super excited to be playing along with the Quilt Designer Shop Hop!! There are some incredibly talented designers also participating that you’ll not want to miss!!
This quick quilt along features 10 blocks and 12 different layouts!
Can’t wait for them to be announced and shown off. This is how it works. Each designer has put together a quilt block. Each designer has also put together a quilt top that uses their one quilt block. In addition to that, there will be some designs that will use all 10 blocks (plus a few in some cases) for a fun sampler block quilt.

Here is my block –

The quilt that goes a long with the block is all about Sun and Waves….. something that I am looking forward to next month, but have also missed the last couple of months because of how things are going right now.
It also reminds me to sit in the sun. Soak up some personal time. Take a minute for myself and recharge. Look towards the light and listen to what you’re surrounded by.

This is the layout if you choose to sew all 12 squares using the same block.

Details: 55″ X 70″
Lately I’ve kind of been liking the play of sashing. That they don’t all match and some play with color happens. Mix it up a little bit.
That is why the center sashings are lighter than the outer sashing.
I also love a little bit of improv or imperfection along with traditional patchwork. That’s where the sashing comes in again- with the points that make the secondary block – star come in. They aren’t perfect. They are having some fun and not worried about being exactly correct.
Here is the quilt top with the blocks from the designers.
There are 3 blocks that repeat OR you can substitute them for any 12″ block that you absolutely love or maybe even have left over from another project.

Now for the fun part – sewing the block!

Thank you for a gorgeous block and the wonderful setting ideas. I also like the setting using just this block all the way through.
