Being a big fan of the stacked coins quilts and wristlets, I couldn’t resist mixing them together. This is a great way to use your little bits of ribbon and fabric pieces.
Materials Needed:
swivel clip
ribbon- various sizes at least 6″ long
fabric-
8- 3″ X 6″ for sides of 6″ x 6″ square
1- 6″ X 6″ behind ribbon and 3– 6″ X 6″ backside and lining
zipper
Stacked Ribbon Clutch Tutorial~
1) Lay the ribbon on top of the 6″ X 6″ fabric -right sides facing up.
2) Play with the arrangement of the ribbon- don’t place ribbons at the ends, you will be sewing along this edge and don’t want the extra bulk
3) Glue the ribbons in place. If you don’t want them floppy or to catch on anything, you can sew them down or use fusible to secure. Quick tutorial on how to do this here: make fusible ribbon.
4) Sew the ribbons to secure along the edges
5) Sew the 3″ X 6″ pieces to either side of the ribbon piece. The ribbons will be going up and down
6) Sew the 3″ X 6″ pieces to either side of the other 6″ X 6″ squares. 1- backside of bag, 2- lining for bag
7) Pin the front and one lining right sides together, with the zipper in between, zipper handle will be facing the front of the bag with the ribbon panel
8) Sew and repeat with back of bag and second lining piece
9) Open the sides and stitch a finishing stitch next to the zipper
*if you’d like to use the swivel clip- Cut a piece of ribbon 4″ long X width of ribbon. Slip clip in the ribbon and pin right sides out to one side of the bag {pin to the right side of the bag outside piece}
10) Pin together the right sides of the lining
11) Sew the sides and bottom of the lining
12) Pin together the right sides of the outside of the bag, tucking the ribbon and swivel inside if you added that to your clutch– make sure to open the zipper so you can turn your bag
13) Sew the sides and bottom of the outside bag
14) Pull right sides out of the zipper and stuff the lining inside the bag
This bag is so versitile. The options are endless! Using your fabric and ribbon stash make a great eclectic style of clutch.

This was a little hard to understand the 3 by 6 inch pieces, I would probably do better with more pictures.
