This past year has been such a crazy year– with all the projects that you have sewn along with and the massive- Sampler of 2018!!
I’m so excited to be announcing this next years projects and designers (you may have already seen a few on the front page already!)
Because we had such a huge and over the top quilt this year, next year will be just a little bit of a break. Don’t worry though- if you haven’t finished the Sampler of 2018, you’ll still have access to all the patterns. And, there will be a full packet pattern coming out to make it easy to download and save to your computer.
So- this next year we are going to try a few new things:
1- monthly meetups. These will be online and….you can participate! You’ll be able to have your video on and mic, so you can participate in the show and tell and discussion. I’ve been putting this off for too long.
Patterns are a little ‘simpler’ and great for anyone- no matter what experience you have in quilting
While the Sampler was incredible, I totally understand that it was a bit much- so this year we are going to roll it back a notch or two and make the BOM something that will appease a few more quilters. The Mountain High features 8 blocks, and some fun sashing and border blocks. It will all come together in December, so the pace is a little easier to follow and hopefully you can accomplish!
The Night Sky mystery quilt has some fun simple blocks, and is a medallion style. Once we get the last quilt block in December (remember the designers are helping us with this one) you’ll be able to assemble the quilt pretty quickly.
You ready to find out the projects?!
3- a few new videos from me- I’ll be recording videos showing off the monthly blocks and talking about the construction of them and the assembly and finishing. Hoping this will help you get better direction and instruction from the quilt. Also, there will be a Q+A or ‘office hours’ where you can ask anything! Should make for some great discussion!

Introducing the new projects for 2019:
Mountain High Quilt Along~
This year long block of the month features 8 large quilt blocks, a fun sashing and setting blocks with simple borders.
Finished size 63×87 it’s great for using your stash or sewing up with a specific fabric line.
I’ve been sewing up the blocks and will be sharing the complete quilt top soon.
Night Sky part mystery Quilt along
Each month you’ll hop from designer to designer gathering 12 blocks that will fill in the mystery spaces.
This is very similar to this past years Scavenger Hunt BOM- as parts of the quilt are a mystery and you won’t find out the last block until December of 2019!!
Along the way, the setting blocks will be published for this 70 quilt, making it easy to keep up and finish by the end of the year.

2019 Guest Designers~
I couldn’t be happier with the variety of talent in the designers for next year! You’ll find names you know of and hopefully a few you don’t, but want to get to know. Each designer during the year brings such a wide variety of projects and patterns to us. I love finding out what they are and getting to know each of them a little bit better.
I’m hoping that you hop on over to their sites and see who they are and what they are all about. And- I hope you are just as excited as me in what they will be sharing! Cannot wait to share their projects with you – and see them sewn up as well!

During their month there may be a giveaway linked to them as well- you’ll have an opportunity to win a pattern, book, fabric or whatever!! This will be fun and another way to get to know them. Each of them picked their month because they have something fun planned or launching during that time.
Additional Projects:
as you know, there are always something extra and fun happening around here- both in patterns and in activities.
We will be having 3 swaps: pincushion, orphan quilt block and make your own charm pack swaps. You can choose to participate in one or all, or none (that’s fine too, but we would love you to join us!) It’s a great way to get to know a few individuals in the group and of course, get a surprise in your mail box as well!
Challenges: scrap busting, orphan projects, and donations. These again are opportunities for your to participate, but aren’t required. The ‘rules’ of the challenge will be announced during that specific month. Those who decide to play along – we’ll have some fun giveaways as well.
