Today we will be gathering your supplies. Kind of seems simple, but really- the supplies (the fabrics you choose) are going to really affect the quilt.
The first one I made featured wool applique as well as more of a ‘civil war’ theme. The prints were darker and I used a lot of ‘medium’ toned fabrics.
The second quilt top was done with some bright and very saturated colors. The background was kept minimal with a lights and light/medium, but those darker fabrics really stood out. (this quilt is also made with the second layout- you can decide what you would like to sew)
So, today- decide the value or the style of quilt that you are going for.
Because these aren’t super big, they are perfect for a table topper or wall hanging. Keeping that in mind, you can also decide your fabric around the location the quilt will end up.
25″ X 25″ / 56″ X 56″
The pattern is included in the 2019 Patchwork Planner. You can find all the tracking, instructions and template within the planner. Every month has the breakdown of the instructions and steps for that month. Both layouts are included in the planner as well.

ABOUT THE QUILT:
Layout option #1: Center only. You’ll be ending this quilt top with a finished size of 25″ X 25″
June will be the last step for just this option.
Layout option #2: Full quilt top. You’ll be ending this quilt top with a finished size of 56″ X 56″
This option will go from July to October.
Materials list has all supplies needed for both layouts.
Applique: choose either wool or cotton fabric applique. Applique templates don’t have seam allowance added.
When using cotton for applique you can use heat-n-bond lite to secure your fabric.
If you are using needle turn applique, cut your fabric 1/4″ larger than the templates.
