Today our guest designer is Kirsty. I met up with her Quilt Market in 2017– and she is a delight!
She is super talented and soooo lucky— she won quite a few things while I sat next to her in classes and parties….I’m trying to remember if it ever rubbed off on me?!
Anyways- she is in Australia. So, you might not have an opportunity to meet up with her in person, but this month we get to learn a few things about her, check out her style and enjoy the pattern as well!
Plus, can’t wait for you to see her addition to the Scavenger Hunt BOM. So wonderful!
Here’s a bit more about her:
I’m an Australian, a wife to a bike riding fanatic and a mum of four (boy, girl, boy, boy).
Quilting is such a creative and practical undertaking. I love being able to make the exact design I want in the colours I love to suit my home or for my intended gift recipient.
About the project for the quilt group:
I’ve got a fun, bright crib-sized quilt project, that’s a great stash buster.
Materials:
16 fat-eighths and 1-1/4 yds of a neutral “background” colour.

How did you get your start in sewing?
I had dabbled in garment sewing in my 20s – my mother taught me how to sew and gave me her old machine. I was never very good at it (unlike Mum) and didn’t make much headway. However, my relationship with my sewing machine changed when I made my first quilt for my 3rd child. It was true love and there was no looking back after that!
What inspires you?
Nature, architecture, modern art, floor tiles 🙂
Do you have a favorite notion?
I really like my “Seams Right” tool by Nancy Zieman for Clover, and I love my hera marker.
Fun, quirky fact about yourself~
Red hair. That explains everything 🙂
What’s coming up for you that we can check out~
Just more quilt patterns and some new, free block tutorials on my site (sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss them!)
