– and so here we are….announcing the Block of the Month for 2019 right now.
And, the quilt along is included this year with the Patchwork Planner…..so you’ll have an opportunity to have the pattern up front- from beginning to end, plus all the tracking and organization pages as well!
2019 Quilt Along = Garden Walk
As if it can’t get any better than that, there are two versions of the quilt along you can sew. You can choose to keep it simple and small with the center and the applique or add a little something fun to the outside with another border of stars and 9 patch quilt blocks.
Either way, we will be working together- just like 2018 quilt along- Three’s Company.
And, did I already say it – but it’s worth repeating a couple of times, you’ll have the patterns upfront. No waiting, downloading, printing and all that.
This year I tried something a little newer with the monthly patterns going through the shop- for the most part is was ok, but in the end it turned out to be a bit of work and a pain sometimes.
Next year, you’ll be able to purchase the Patchwork Planner and have it included.
If you aren’t interested or need the planner- there will be an option to snag the pattern before we start. For right now, it’s only available in the planner. While this years block of the month has been free (if you keep up on downloading the patterns per month)- next year will have a cost.
Not sure quite yet how much. My patterns for the most part are fairly cheap, so it won’t be a lot. But it will come with extras like the planner and layouts, coloring sheets…etc, so it will cost a bit more than usual.
Garden Walk Quilt Along 2019
Layout option #1: Center only. You’ll be ending this quilt top with a finished size of 25″ X 25″
June will be the last step for just this option.
Layout option #2: Full quilt top. You’ll be ending this quilt top with a finished size of 56″ X 56″
This option will go from July to October.
About the Garden Walk Quilt:
Materials list has all supplies needed for both layouts.
Applique: choose either wool or cotton fabric applique. Applique templates don’t have seam
allowance added.
When using cotton for applique you can use heat-n-bond lite to secure your fabric.
If you are using needle turn applique, cut your fabric 1/4″ larger than the templates.
Support Community:
As with this year, the quilt along will continue to have support in the free facebook group: Quilting 101 It has worked out well this year to have a spot where others can add images, chat about the steps, ask questions and get help and guidance when your stuck. So this next year, that will continue.
As with all the quilt alongs, it’s been so fun to watch the blocks get sewn up- the styles, fabric and new ideas that come from sewing together is so fun. It’s a great way to learn a few things new as well as get inspired and help from others.
You can join the Quilting 101 group here.

I don’t need/want a planner but Garden Walk wants to sell me one anyway. Then when I clicked to get the current pattern for option 2, I got a totally unrelated website. Pretty quilt, but I may never make it.
