Designer Spotlight – Claudia Porter

How did you get your start in sewing?

I taught myself after my mother had a stroke.

Where do you find inspiration? 

Various places but color wise – Nature, outdoor signs and other items.

Do you have a favorite or a few favorite notions? What are they?

My square rulers, any size, also my snippers.

Tell us about the project your currently working on.

I’m working on some new quilt patterns and filming some videos for my YouTube channel.

Have anything fun coming up or just happening that you’d like to share?

I have a signature fabric line coming up with Island Batik 🙂

What are your favorite parts of quilting?

Designing and piecing.

I’m a James Bond movie fanatic and a big-time Dallas Cowboys fan!

What interests do you pursue when you’re not quilting?

My husband and I love to hike
