I had the opportunity to go to the Phoenix QuiltCon – which is hosted and put on by the Modern Quilt Guild. In 2018 and 2019 I was the president of the SLC Modern Quilt guild and had a wonderful experience.
There were so many talented quilters – I learned a lot!
During my presidency I designed the Gee Bend Improv BOM, which you can see more about that here. The quilt I finished was actually hand quilted – which I don’t do very often!
I took one class – How to turn your quilt into a X-stitch. It was a lot of fun! It was taught by Hilary. I may be exploring more of X-stitch in the future!
QuiltCon Favorites
These are a few of the quilts which caught my eye – some of them I grabbed the about, but some I didn’t. It was an incredible show and the quilts were beyond wonderful. I am tossing the idea of submitting a quilt for next years show.

Look closely at this quilt – it’s sewn using jeans and leather. It was incredible.

I bought the lecture pass- so I was able to attend a few lectures as well. One was on – more than a quilt coat, and it was incredible.

I ran into some good friends too!!!
Lee – we were lucky to have her as a guest designer inside the membership – Patchworkers Plus.

Lou and Jo – Lou has been a guest inside Patchworkers Plus too!

Dara – she’s a delight!

Some great booths-
