Watch for the workshop upgrade – everything in one place (optional)
I am very excited to share something that has been brewing in the background for a bit.
After looking at my goals for the 2023 year… one that always tends to show up is health. Of course. Like many quilters, movement pretty much includes walking to the sewing machine, walking to the cutting mat, walking to the ironing station.
Well, it’s time to maybe do a little bit of intentional walking somewhere other than our ‘go to’ route.
This is NOT about losing weight.
It’s simply about moving and of course sewing.
It’s about consistency.
Consistently getting your walking in – every day.
AND – Consistently getting your sewing in – every day.
Neither of them taking too long, so they are very doable in squeezing into your possibly already tight schedule.
I’m thinking 30 minutes to 1 hour. For each task.
30 minutes of walking.
30 minutes of sewing (but we all know we will squeeze in more minutes if possibly once we get started!)
I began with a super cute sampler quilt… but after much thought, it changed into a Walkabout Quilt.
In one of my past neighborhoods, they would hold a walkabout in the evening. So you could have a stroll around the neighborhood and visit with others. Some would offer lemonade on the porch or a cookie or two.
It was a great opportunity to just get out of the house and visit for a some minutes.
I’m the designer and blogger behind Patchwork Posse.
I’m excited to start off the Spring with the ‘Walkabout’ Quilt Along!
I’ve been waiting all winter to get outside and go back to the hikes in my backyard and explore the new surroundings around me (recently moved and new to the area).
With the idea of giving myself a reason to go outside… I could sew after I returned from my outside walkabout.
Whether you are taking your walkabout outside, inside, in a gym, in our living room, watching your step counts, setting a timer, walking your stairs or pacing your sewing room… it is just the right amount of movement for YOU.
Sign up now to sew along and ‘walkabout’ with over 500 other quilters! Can’t wait to hear your stories and see your quilts come together.
