To be perfectly honest, I’m both excited to start it, but terrified of doing it! I plan to make a T-shirt quilt for our oldest son, and it will hang in his office at his company, Against the Grain. His clients are in the upper tier of homes, and he has clients from all over the United States, and some who are in Europe, as well.Everything they make is of wood, and really spectacular pieces. It’s the one kind of quilt I said I’d NEVER make, but when he handed me a bag full of 30+ Tee-shirts and asked me to do this for his office, I did what any good mother would do, I said, “Of course!”
I’m excited and motivated to finish unfinished projects. I just finished a large quilt and I’m working on finishing the next in line! I’m ahead of my plan so far!

The project that I am most excited about sewing is actually a little story. When I was in Home Economics in 9th grade; We had to make a pair of shorts. You would think this would be simple for me as I made straight A’s and started college at 15 years old. However, I could not for the life of me get these shorts sewn. I have since learned the huge importance, talent, skill, and patience involved in such an amazing skill set. I believe that I am now ready to attempt those shorts with a little more experience, humility, reverence, and patience. Thank you for the opportunity to try and fulfill this dream of mine. Good Luck, Everyone!
I belong to a group that makes quilts for kids, like Project Linus, but we lost our leader for that group and got another leader, so this is Quilts4kidz and NOTHING is more satisfying to me than finishing another quilt for a needy kid in my community, knowing one more child will feel the warmth of his/her very own quilt and I’m the only hand quilter in the group because it’s important for me to let a child know they’re worth every stitch.
It’s going to be a busy year for me. I am the donation chairman for my guild. I cut 270 pillowcases for everyone to sew. 15 twin quilts for Hospice, 45 lap quilts for Oncology, and now I am cutting 500 kites for string quilts. Honestly, I love string quilts but I want to make Edita’s Alaska. Who knows if that will happen? Fingers crossed. Oh yes, I forgot about the need for 2 Habitat quilts.
I’m excited as I will lead our church group this year to make quilts for babies in hospitals, seniors who need a smile that someone is thinking if them and anyone else we find we can bring a smile to.
