Quilting in Purple

Last week or so i quilted a big, purple quilt for Janis {from quilt group}

She said it was a block of the month that she did years ago– and then added a big border to make the quilt larger.

I was a little worried at first about the big empty space of the borders…..but is turned out ok.  She said I could sew an overall pattern. Lucky me!

I went with a swirly meandor.  No flowers in there, just swirls.

I also finished up this top that i have had since Feb. from another quilt group.  Someone had bought the top at a thrift store. I know! In person it is really super cute. Bright pink with these houses that get totally lost in the center of it all.  But, the sewer had mitered the corners!  And done a nice job too-   I had some wonderful bright pink flannel i stuck on the back….. perfect!  It is being donated to the bone marrow center in Salt Lake.

This one got a kind of shell repeat meandor style of quilting. Again. Quick easy and oh so not challenging!

Funny- the last 3 quilts i have done- they have all been an over all pattern. Kind of nice on the brain to just repeat, repeat, repeat.
