Not the typical machine quilter

I am not.  The typical machine quilter.  I find excitement in quilting some funky thing.  This time the funk found it's way onto Esther's table runners.  This crazy gal {who is over 80} came up with a grand idea of quilting something for 7 daughters/daughters in law.  That not all…..she decided to do one table runner for each season.  Oh yeah.  So….here is a glimpse of what is on the screaming banchie for the last few days.  Her Christmas themed table runners.

I love the striped stockings!! totally cute.  The green bow got me each time I come to it— reminds me of aliens. lol

Can you find the funky quilting?  Oh yeah.  the spikey star in the center to be echoed with a second spikey star that doesn't follow the first…then to travel how about some swirls.

The borders got a big loop with smaller loops all around it…..

Because I have a few more quilting things to get done for others before their Christmas deadline…..I am spending quality time out in the Sewing Cottage.  But to tell you the truth it is chilly out there! I am not sure why–

yeah…that's the door.  So, I took a moment or two and sewed up this door breeze snake.

I am aware that there is still batting used as the door seal…but look at the bottom there!  There's a snake blocking all the wind! oooooo….it gets toasty in there.  Well, after a few hours with the heater on.

So the question for the weekend— what do you do that is not typical or funky in your sewing world?

I love your candy cane table runner. I have never done anything funky but after seeing what you have done I am going to try to figure up something funky to do for Christmas.
