Saturday Angie gave me a buzz and off we went to do a bit of shop hopping. Beautiful day. Beautiful shops. Wonderful woman— and of course we had a few suprises too.
We were late going and since it was the late in the day on the last day–we scored. A few shops said–hey, pick out [...]

I invited myself to play along with Where Bloggers Create. She is a follower of Where Woman Create and last year did a little one day thingie– Where Bloggers Create. They {WWC} loved it and are now sponsoring it too. She was just in the last magazine that came out this [...]

Last year while walking through Utah Quilt Guilds– Annual Quilt Fest— I ran into Cori. She is truely a delightful gal!! Her quilts were all hanging and she is like the master at applique. In fact a few months ago she posted a wonderful tutorial and how-to applique I had to post it here. She was also just featured in an Australian sewing magazine. yay for [...]

There are a few things in life that are really irritating to me- one biggie- brushing teeth. Please don’t talk to me. ok? Just stay in the bathroom and shut the door…and don’t even think about gargeling and swishing! ugh.
I apparently get the same shivers and irritation at squaring patchwork quilt [...]

Robin has a goodie for us— she has planned a quick a crooked 4 patch border. Great pattern for beginners again + we are learning a great technique on crookeding our [...]

This one is a goodie girls. There are some great layouts, designs and ideas. This book is packed with them!
Would I recommend this as a pattern for beginners? I am not sure. Make sure you give it a good lookover before purchasing. I’ll give you a few hints further down.
Pros– full of pictures. And they are in full color too! I love that in books. I am a looker girls. I look, I like, I make. Me no likie–me no buyie. If you don’t like one pattern turn the page. There are almost too many quilts to choose from. Can that be a bad thing? NO! but just a warning. It is eye candy overload. You get 2 designs with EACH strip you make. {you’ll understand later} So, basically- you get a quilt you want + a FREE QUILT!! Who doesn’t like that? oh, hey i just got the name of the book….quilts on the double. funny.
Cons– It can be a bit confusing. The way it is layed out is a bit challenging for me who likes everything right together. I had to hunt for a bit to find the exact instructions. I am not a patient person girls, I just want to be making it already! They are found in the front of the book because all the patterns use the same method. Which that is totally a pro if you ask me. Then the cutting instructions are further in on page 19. But, seriously once you get it –you get it and then off you go! *I would recommend using sticky notes to mark the pages that you are using. I found myself jumping back and forth and this made the mind a little [...]
Tall Grass Studios is putting it on and of course I will be playing along.
Who doesn't need a bit of shoving to get a few things on the to-do list done? I of course totally do!!!
Join, so I can push around too.
ok. here is my to finish list—as if i am thinking this [...]

I mean that in the literal sense too. Take a look:
This is what your walls look like when you start patching them. Reminds me of Caladril when you have the chicken pox, doesn’t it? So, for future note, don’t allow the children to use pvc pipe bows and arrows on the wall. Apparently they leave a lot of dents.
Good thing they all get a little bit of paint when dried and sanded nicely.
Just so you don’t think that I have totally lost it to the chickens……I quilted this for [...]

Today we get another side pattern for the Patchwork Round Robin girls!!!
