Teepee Quiet Book Tutorial

Today I am sharing on Sew Mama Sew a tutorial for making the Teepee I Spy Quilt Block. I am sooo excited to be back there and showcasing something totally fun to make and show of your conversation style of fabric. This 10 1/2" X 12 1/2" quilt block is perfect for showing off those random pieces of fabric that you have been collecting for awhile, but seriously have no place in any of the projects you sew on!

Using this quilt block — Instructions for the block are over on the their site, plus a few adjustments– you can sew up a TeePee Quiet Book!

Here are the following changes to make for your book. I didn't sew a different cover or back for the book. If you'd like to do that- you can.

Cutting Instructions: these measurements will make 12 blocks, which will make a 6 page quiet book

Background:

12– 6" X 3 1/2"

12– 2 1/2” X 6”

24– 2" X 9"

Tent/flap:

12– 6" X 3 1/2” outside

12– 6" X 3 1/2” inside

Under flap- i spy fabric:

12– 6" X 3 1/2"”

Grass:

12– 2” X 6”

Quilt Block Instructions: Clickety Click to Sew Mama Sew for the Construction of the TeePee I Spy Quilt Block

Quiet Book instructions:

1) Sew two blocks together side by side- repeat for a total of 6 sets of 2 blocks

2) Lay right sides together 2 sets

3) Sew all the way around leaving a 2 1/2" opening for turning

4) Snip the corners and turn right sides out

5) Iron

6) Stitch the opening closed

7) Repeat with the other blocks

8) Pin the pages together, matching up the center seam of the sets

9) Sew 1/4" seams on either side of the center seam of the sets

10) Hand embroider In my Teepee I Spy on front cover
