Connecting with Quilting Friends

Have i got a story of the 'small world' for you— 

While going to lunch with a wonderful bunch of quilter friends {thanks and hi everyone!} we were talking, chatting and catching up on everything wonderful in our lives.

Marilyn had just returned from her daughters wedding back east and started a story…… she mentioned Janna who pieces the most wonderful quilt from clothes of loved ones who have passed away.  She started with a story i knew all too well– then i kind of looked over to my mom {no shown in photo– she says i know what she looks like so it's ok if she takes it–lol} and said.  is this the janna we know? My favorite Aunt Janna?  Marilyn continued with the story, i asked -do the quilts have pink backs?  why yes.  I do know that story.  I totally know these quilted quilts and this quilt, and this quilt too, and how about this quilt, and i almost forgot about this quilt too {she actually kept this one in her family}. 

Marilyn- do you know that i quilted those quilts?  I quilt all of Janna's quilts. 

Talking with Janna after the luncheon because it was so random i couldn't keep it to myself….. Janna said about Marilyn–

She showed the quilt that she made for her daughter –a double wedding ring….the most wonderful quilt. oh you should have seen it….   Janna– I quilted that one!

both of them said 'we have a quilter' to each other in chatting, but never thought in a million years they were speaking of the same person.  

We just laughed and laughed– in fact, i just had lunch with janna a few weeks ago!  Oh how we all know each other in the round a bout sort of way.

So, Janna makes the quilts– mails them to me…..i quilt them and mail them back.  Same with Marilyn- skipping the mail part.  

They got along perfectly wonderful….and she is good friends to her daughter {who the wedding was for}

You truly never know who is where and whom they know…or will know.   

I am thinking that had we not known each other already, we would have all met at one time..since we shared the same wonderful friend circle.  funny.
