Wool Challenge
Here we finally are– the wool challenge is starting!
Are you scratching your head wondering what in the world the wool challenge is? Well– first off, it's free. Please spread the word– grab a button, tweet it up, share it on facebook whatever you social media poison is…share it. The more the merrier right?! right.
What else is it? It's a time when you dig around those closets for those shrunken or should i say felted wool sweaters. Maybe even head to the store and pick up a few– ones that have been cut for your, or you can try your luck at a thrift store and find some wonderful wool suit to cut up.
The challenge is for you to explore, learn and meet others who have a wool obsession— {this is what you will end up with after the challenge is over, promise}
During the wool challenge, there will be 2 new easy sewing projects and patterns for you to try your hand at sewing with wool or wool felt + interviews scheduled for every Monday! There are some absolutely fabulous and talented wool enthusiasts who will share a little bit of themselves, and some of their favorite hints, tips and whatevers dealing with wool, wool felt and a little embroidery to keep the wool down.
So here's a quick run down of the schedule~
Start Date: October 25th
Oct. 26th –first pattern– Wool Penny Rug Pattern by Becky of Patchwork Posse
Oct.29th- interview with wool master– Anna of Woolie Mammoth
Nov. 2nd- Embroidery Stitches and Designs — photos + link list
Nov. 5th– interview with wool master– Hiromi of Hurajion Design
Nov. 9th– Wool Felt Thread and Felting Tutorials
Nov. 12th- interview with wool master– Betty of Primitive Betty's
Nov. 16th- second pattern– Snowman Rug Hook Free Pattern by Betty of Primitive Betty's
Nov. 19th- interview with wool master– Sarah of Dolls & Daydreams
Nov. 26th- interview with wool master- Melissa of Checkout Girl
Nov. 25th– Fun and Free Wool Tutorials
Nov.29th– Wool Felt Holiday Tutorials
You will also have your own opportunity to make something woolie and be eligible to win some fab prizes!
Nov. 30th– first day of the giveaways!!!
Finish date: Dec. 3rd– Winners Announced!
Here are the rules to be eligible for entry into the contest:
* Wool Challenge items can be sewn using the patterns shared during the challenge or any other pattern you have.
* You may add up to 2 photographs per item.
* You may add as many items as you want– please make sure you have made them recently and that they are handmade by you.
I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Along the way there will be random posts thrown in there of some other super fantastic blogs, sites and tutorials I have found to help you even more. It will be a month of wool overload!!!
