The Gathering Place --that would be Idaho

So girls, I went to Idaho last Thursday and had the best time …e…v..er  :)   I went up with Angie and Julie {hi girls}

Angie, me {with peanuts}, julie's aunt and Julie

Quick story about it that will turn out long—–  Julie has an Aunt living up there in Delco, Idaho.  She goes to a quilt group.  They asked Julie to get me and Angie to come and do a trunk show and whatever else.  So, you can imagine the panic when I finally figure out that I am in charge of 2 hours.  {Ok. that really didn't happen until we were driving up there and by then it is too late to back out}

So, after a good 2 1/2 hours drive time–thanks julie for doing that!– we arrived, unloaded and started being nervous.

They made me go first, I was really hoping Angie would go first…then I would know what 'not' to do.  hee hee anyways.

Do you know what girls? It Was FUN!!! I really enjoyed myself.  This was the first time anyone has ever asked for a trunk show from me and I shared the pattern

    'Cranky Quilt' with them too. And do you know what? They had fun too!!   I can't believe it.

So after I blabbed for 45 minutes…I know can you believe?  Angie took over and did hers.   Then we had some lunch and the we did a few make and takes. Angie brought a needle turn Choc. kiss and I— Well, how about the Rolled Pin Cushion?!! yay!!!

This one was a great one to do in a group, I'll tell you.  Cut up the felted wool sweater beforehand and let them pick and choose and then roll…and roll….and roll…. alot of them took them home to stitch because by then they had had it!

They had their normal meeting at 1:30 and revieled their round robins. —noone had seen them except the stitchers! They had rules:  the first border was triangles, the second applique, the third was rectangles or squares, and the last was your choice.  That is a great idea isn't it? Narrows down the overwhelming feeling of coming up with something. smart. isn't it?

just to let you all know— the crazy awesome borders mixed in there— one girl in the group did them…she wasn't there.  But everyone would see and it and go 'who did that one?" and noone would answer…and then someone would say –oh, leslie probably did. and they did this on all the quilts. It was too funny.

There is a Patchwork Round Robin going on here— Clickety Click here for more info and to play along.

Here are random photos of make and takes:

 After we got loaded up again we headed on over to the quilt store— the gathering place…in Rupert.  That place is huge!!! ok. i think it was over 10,000 square feet and 10,000 bolts of fabric.   You name it, she has it + more!!   Take a look around:'

  • That was great fun, Becky! Loved seeing all those absolutely gorgeous quilts, and Miss Peanut and friend clearly had a wonderful time. When I get my pattern, a Canadian adventure awaits the girl. Watch for us soon…
