Material Obsession
I love this book girls. I 'read' it often. I love it. The colors, the patterns…the everything! + it doesn't help that I love Kaffe secretly and everything he has a hand in I have to get. {lucky for me my mom is also obsessed and has all his books!}
As I was 'reading' the book over –again, I found that one was a bit familiar to me….and then – hey, I have already made this!!! yay for leftovers!!!
The pattern in the book that I am refering to is Cowboy Baby. They used the cutest fabric—mine….it was a Mystery Quilt for one of the groups I go to. funny huh?!
Here is a close up of the block. Let me tell you that this is a wonderful project for a beginner quilter! It makes up quick, easy and is just the right size for a baby quilt. If you are looking for a start, this is a great one!
Because mine was a mystery quilt and it mentioned to do 2 colors— this is what I chose. In the book it has a way cute background + a blue and a red for the pinwheels. Easy construction too. No templates or funny angles. A simple 1/2 square triangle with a square sewn to a rectangle. It might look like it has an inset seem, but it doesn't. No worries with this one!

Now, the border in the book goes from edge to edge which is totally cute…the border for the mystery quilt goes all the way around the quilt. Matching in the corners. Get it?
