I had a great weekend– mother's day…quilt show….purchasing a few goodies… you know. the best kind of weekend. Thought I would share a bit from it.
HMQS had a wonderful quilt show with lots of ribbons….take a look:
This looks just like this! mine isn't nearly as decorated though. Bling peoples!
this goes right along with the focus friday for the month!!
sometimes i just like these. check out how many pieces the background has.
the quilting is stunning on this one girls– check out the closeup:
can you see it now?
it's a bit odd but it was a swap. She kept it connected by adding those half square in a square blocks in the 2 corners. see them? kind of an interesting idea.
I always love a good amish style quilt don't you? There is no rhyme or reason, which is refreshing sometimes. I am always worried about things like that. I mean check out the light blue basket- bottom center row. I would never have done that, but I love it.
simple irish chain. the colors in person are wonderful.
stunning 3 color design. I believe it is an origional + the quilting- out of this world!
perfect example of quilting each row with a different design.
take a look at the flower patch along the border above {in the white border}
There is some great embroidery stitches on top of the applique. Great look.
always a fun quilt!! read about her process below:
It's like a log cabin eye spy block. Cute, cute, cute
What to do with your doilies
Crazy cool scrappy star quilt. Love it.
cute words— it aged for three years. hee hee
Konda had her own little show!! She is one of the designers for the quilt group. She designed March's pattern/project. All the following quilts are hers:
buggy barn star pattern. Love the barn raising layout.
We of course made some time for shmooging with others….
Me and Cherly from quilter chic. She is also a designer for the quilt group. She was sitting at the Machine Quilters Group table.
me and Patsy. She is one of the queen bees of the HMQS show. Love her! She also gave this months hints on preparing our quilts for the quilter. Thanks Patsy!
me & Barbara from Quilt Soup. She is also a designer for the quilt group.
you want to be a member now don't you? by the way- the pattern behind us– the christmas presents is a free one on her site. cute stuff as always.
And what would the day be without a bit of shopping?
My purchases are all over the place girls! I can't ever decide what my 'style' is. I have 1 30's print, a lovely orange print, a little kit, some fats that are somewhat civil war. a big civil war piece for a border, some needles, and applique glue! What is that combo all about? I love them all though and they have since joined their fabric friends in their new home.
Check out all the colors! Perfect screen material to make this type of a project bag.
What a great day we had!!! Lots of good stuff. Phew. Why does it only come once a year? Did you miss the HMQS show? You'll have to go next year, for sure.
pst–thanks for starting to fill up the empty friends spot on the right. I was wondering again if I was just speaking to myself. Thanks for keeping me company.
