Sometimes being frustrated makes things better.
Let me explain a little bit:
I have been making and selling the pattern for these little girls for about 1 1/2 years now…..and last month I ran out of felt. Running back to the store—there is felt, but the colors are no not happy! They are a weird yellow, and purple dark red. I mean, how can those colors be for little ponies? It just doesn't work.
So, I stood and thought for a bit. And thought some more. And then finally the light went on. {sometimes it take a little bit}
Hey, what about fleece? It comes in multiple colors. It is non-piling. It is thicker and softer than felt. It wears a little better. It doesn't ravel along the edge. Could it be anymore perfect? I'd say NOT!!
From now on— fleece ponies and fleece face {used on the wrong side-perfect again}. No more thin felt girls.
Go on, grab our ponies…
The next time something frustrating happens —not the right supply or fabric, notion or whatever—try and think outside of the box. What will work in it's place?
Maybe, just maybe you might end up with something better than what you started with.
pst—want to make your own smappy baby {stands for small and scrappy}?

I didn't even think of fleece! Was it harder to work with on a smaller scale, i.e. how it kind of curls up after being cut?
Such adorable little dolls, and really fleece? Genius!
i know. can you believe? you should try it. it totally works wonderful!
it doesn't curl up—suprise! sew it before you cut it. it works perfect.
