Card Key Fobs and pouches {52 UFO Quilt Block Pick up}

This last week I headed with the family to the Science Museum in Salt Lake….and guess what- we got another family pass {thank you mom and dad} and you know what that means? Another pack of cards to lug around in my purse!  Ugh. Why do they have to have one per person. I mean if you have a small family, no biggie….but having 6 and them having their own card- add their own library card, insurance card, discount cards, club cards, quilt store cards….you get my point?!

Key Fob and Card Pouch

My purse gets sooo heavy! After posting a little preview here and getting some funny comments: Taryn Rogers Verleye I cleaned out my purse a couple of weeks ago and found that I had $25 in change jingling around in the bottom of it. No wonder it was so heavy!!! I cannot imagine $25 dollars in change!!!!

Anywhosies- my sister told me that she hangs all of the cards that are similar- ie. library, memberships together on a fob. Then they can grab the fob and head out.  Or keep the fob in the car.  Either way, it isn't in your purse.

I dug around the sewing cottage and found a few 'dainty' little quilt squares or half square triangles and came up with enough to make a few fobs for the card collection.

I followed these key fob tutorial instructions- adjusting the sizes by what sizes my mini quilt squares were

plus, you don't have to have the special clamp– just the metal ring!

I thought that maybe there were some other cards that don't necessarily need their own key fob– but a little pouch to keep them collected in.

Again- I dug around and found a bunch of little half square triangles and sewed them together until I had enough for the front and back of the pouch.  I used a solid piece of fabric for the lining inside, a pony tail elastic and a button for closure.  The pouch is just bigger than the cards- they are all nice and snug.

You could use this pouch tutorial– it opens and isn't a pouch, but just as cute {plus it has a ruffle!}

How do you keep your cards organized?
